(GRAHAM FFA | CONTRIBUTED PHOTO) Graham FFA students Brailey Brooks and Renata Garcia at the Area IV LDE competition Monday, Nov. 25 at Abilene-Wylie. Brooks advanced to the state competition while Garcia barely missed advancement with a third place award in Senior Spanish Creed Speaking.
After advancing to the state FFA Leadership Development Events competition at Sam Houston State University, Brailey Brooks represented Graham and was named a semi-finalist.
Brooks first advanced in Senior Creed Speaking during the Oil Belt District Area IV LDEs held Friday, Nov. 15 in Perrin.
She was joined with Renata Garcia who achieved first place in Senior Spanish Creed Speaking.
The two traveled to the Area IV LDE competition Monday, Nov. 25 at Abilene-Wylie. Garcia just missed advancement, winning third place in Senior Spanish Creed Speaking while Brooks moved onto the state competition with her second place award in Senior Creed Speaking.
The state competition was held Friday, Dec. 6 in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University.
Brooks ranked 11th in the first heat of Senior Creed and was eliminated before the final round. Two heats were held before the finals.
