Car runs into local business

Last Wednesday, the Graham Police Department responded to a call where a vehicle had driven into the Nails and Spa business located on Hwy. 16 in Graham.

Officer Carlos Sanchez and Sergeant Chris Post were dispatched to the scene where they made contact with Gay Zipkes, 59, of Graham. Zipkes had been operating a four door white Chevrolet Impala when she had mistaken the gas pedal for the brake pedal. The car then jumped the curb and crashed into the business.

No injuries were reported during the incident and Zipkes reported a recent death in her immediate family as a cause for distraction.
