The Graham Chamber of Commerce welcomed businesses and other individuals Tuesday to the Young County Arena as they recognized those that go above and beyond in the community to make a difference. The annual Chamber Banquet and Taste of Graham events kicked off at the arena with community and business recognitions.

Introductions were made to both events by Graham Chamber of Commerce CEO, Krisa De La Cruz. De La Cruz said the Taste of Graham event had one major change this year from years prior.

“We are changing things up a bit because our restaurant community came to us and said that when they put on this event, they do it to support our community, and in supporting our community they really feel like they are working as a team together,” she said. “They are not competing against one another, they are partnering with one another. And I thought that was really special and really powerful, so this year we are not doing Taste of Graham awards.”

Brendan Weatherman was introduced as the 2020 Chamber of Commerce Board President and will be filling the position held by Tiffany Snow.

“As for any other not for profit organization, Graham Chamber of Commerce functions based on the support of our community,” Weatherman said. “Thank you to the engaged, active and growing member base, the Graham Chamber of Commerce continues to function well beyond our means. We could not ask for a better support system from our community. The event participation and community partnerships allows us to do a lot of new things and we are just so grateful for ya’ll to continue to grow and allow us to do this.”
