editor@grahamleader.com

The Graham Chamber of Commerce presented their plan for the Christmas Stroll and Lighted Parade last Thursday during the regular Graham City Council meeting. The organization has incorporated special pandemic procedures this year in order to maintain the safety of those who attend.

The parade will have the theme of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” this year and will take place on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. on and adjoining the downtown square. Lineup for the parade will start at 4 p.m., with judging of the entries into the parade at 6 p.m. The entries will be judged based on the interpretation of the theme and the creativity and use of lights on their float or entry. Awards for best overall, best to represent the theme and best Christmas spirit will be announced at the end of the parade.

All parade applications must be received by email, mail or hand delivered to the chamber at 608 Elm St., by Wednesday, Nov. 25. No candy, toys, souvenirs or promotional items can be thrown from parade entries. Entries can be a float, marching group, vehicle, trailers, horses or other approved vehicles. Any go-kart-type entry or dancer entry must be approved seven days in advance to the chamber.
