The city of Graham has continued their search for both a new Graham Police Department Chief and Young County Arena Manager. City Manager Brandon Anderson gave a progress report to the city council on Thursday for the two positions.

Former Police Chief Tony Widner announced his plans to retire in Aug. 2018, with an effective date of Tuesday, Jan. 1. The council approved Assistant Chief Brent Bullock on Thursday, Jan. 10, to serve as Interim Police Chief of GPD while the city was looking for a replacement.

“We have got the police chief search information down and published on Tuesday,” City Manager Brandon Anderson said. “It will run in the paper a couple of times, and it got put on TML (Texas Municipal League) on Tuesday.”

Anderson said the committee has reviewed around 11 applications for the position of Young County Arena Manager and have narrowed them down to five which they have arranged for interviews. He said four of those interviews will be on Friday, Feb. 25 and the last will be on March 1.
