Community gathers to teach students about safety
Many Young County elementary students were in attendance to learn safety basics at Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Wednesday, April 10 at the Young County Arena.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service partnered with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation to present the event because many children begin staying at home around age 9 and 10.
“Through hands-on activities, Safety Day participants learned how to prevent incidents and how to reduce the extent of injuries if incidents do occur,” a press release reads. “Scheduled speakers and interactive demonstrations reinforced the importance of children taking responsibility for their own safety, respecting parents’ safety rules and sharing safety tips with their family and friends.”
