During Monday’s Young County Commissioner’s Court meeting, it was voted to enter into a contract with Brazos Family Clinic to provide inmate healthcare starting on March 15.

In the Feb. 11 Commissioner’s Court meeting, the Commissioners decided to give 30 days notice to Young County Family Clinic, operated by Graham Regional Medical Center, of their intent to terminate the existing contract.  Their existing contract had been in place since Aug. 11, 2015.

GRMC CEO Shane Kernell declined to comment on the county’s decision.

Young County Judge John Bullock said the decision to part ways with GRMC and YCFC ultimately came down to the costs.
