County to see at least one challenger in primaries
Young County is preparing for at least one contest primary election as of Thursday, Nov. 21.
A Republican who is challenging for a seat is Stacy Creswell for Precinct 1 County Commissioner, which is one of many of the offices up for election in 2020.
According to Elections Administrator Lauren Sullivan, Young County offices up for election are the Young County Sheriff, Young County Attorney, Young County Commissioner Pct. 1, Young County Commissioner Pct. 3, Young County Constable Pct. 1, Young County Constable Pct. 3, Young County Tax Assessor-Collector, 90th Judicial District Attorney and 90th Judicial District Judge.
Candidate filing for the March 3, 2020 Primary Election opened Saturday, Nov. 9 and will run through Dec. 9. To file, candidates should contact the chairperson of the party of their choice.
The last day to register to vote in the primary election will be Feb. 3, 2020. The first day of early voting will be Feb. 18. The last day of early voting will be Feb. 28, 2020.
