Deadline to register to vote Monday for upcoming election

Despite having no candidates on the ballot, Young County residents have less than one week to register to vote in the Nov. 5 Constitutional Amendment Election, which has early voting this month.

The last day to register to vote will be Monday, Oct. 7, and registration can be completed at the Young County Courthouse. Early voting will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 25, and Monday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Nov. 1, at two locations in Young County. The early voting locations are Olney Community Library, 807 W. Hamilton St. and North Central Texas College, 928 Cherry St.

The last day to apply for ballot by mail, received not postmarked, is Friday, Oct. 25, and the last day to receive ballot by mail is Tuesday, Nov. 5 by 7 p.m.

Election day will have voting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at five locations. The voting locations on election day will be Olney Community Library, 807 W. Hamilton St., North Central Texas College, 928 Cherry St, Newcastle City Hall, 608 Broadway Ave., Loving Fire Department and Graham First United Methodist Church, 700 Third St.
