The city of Graham welcomed Jon Delamarter as the new Graham Municipal Airport Manager last Thursday during their regular City Council meeting. Delamarter was chosen out of 34 applicants for the position and after the city reviewed other avenues for administration of the facility.

City Manager Brandon Anderson announced Delamarter in the position Thursday and said the city and committee overseeing the hiring interviewed five of the 34 applicants to the position.

“We just came out of a contract situation,” Anderson said. “We actually looked at a management company, a contract situation or two and also some full-time employees. Jon is going to come on with us as a full-time city employee.”

Delamarter was born in Stuart, Fla., but also grew up in Alabama and North Carolina where he graduated from high school in 1992. He met his wife Margaret in 1993 and they have been married for 26 years and have four adult daughters.
