DSHS holding back-to-school Graham immunization clinic

The Texas Department of State Health Services is hosting a free immunization clinic in Graham next week for those heading back to school or needing up-to-date shots.

The clinic will be held by appointment Tuesday, July 1 at First United Methodist Church at 700 Third St. The clinic will have immunizations for children entering kindergarten, seventh grade or college in the fall.

Parents or guardians over the age of 19 must accompany a minor under the age of 18 to the clinic.

There will be no charge for the immunizations to eligible children and adults. 

DSHS provides immunizations for children and adults with no insurance as well as children who are under-insured, meaning their insurance does not cover vaccines.

Additionally, DSHS provides immunizations for children on Medicaid as well as the American Indian and Native Alaskan population.

“We cannot provide vaccines for those with CHIP or Medicare,” DSHS Community Health Specialist Laura Neal said. “If your private insurance covers vaccines, please see your physician.”
