The early voting turnout exceeded the 50% turnout mark for in-person and ballot by mail Tuesday in Young County and by Thursday had exceeded the 2016 general election turnout for early voting. This election is the third in Young County after COVID-19 restrictions were implemented and slowly loosened locally and statewide following the special election for the Texas Senate District 30 seat which was held late in September.

Early voting in the general election ended Friday, Oct. 30, in Texas. Election day voting will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at five Young County locations. Those locations will be North Central Texas College at 928 Cherry St. in Graham, Olney Community Library at 807 W. Hamilton, Newcastle City Hall at 608 Broadway, Graham First Methodist Church at 700 Third St., Loving Volunteer Fire Department at 8891 Hwy. 114 and Megargel City Hall at 902 Cedar St. Like with early voting, voters registered in Young County can vote at any of the five election day locations.

As of press time Monday afternoon, 5,602 in-person voters had shown up to vote in Young County, or a 47.4% in-person turnout from the 11,820 registered voters in the county. In only the first week of early voting in the election, Young County, 2,409 voters turned out to vote, or a 20% total turnout from the registered voters in the county.
