Next Saturday, the Keep Graham Beautiful Fall Clean-Up event will kick off on the Graham downtown square and run through the beginning of October. The annual event encourages various clean up methods through use of the city convenience station and through opportunities available during the kick off event.

Due to the then growing concern regarding COVID-19, the Spring Clean-Up event was canceled in April so this Fall event will serve as the first KGB clean up event of the year. The organization is asking those who participate in this year’s event to adhere to social distancing rules and wear a mask for the kickoff event.

Kickoff day for the clean-up event will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26. On the kick off day on the Graham downtown square there will be eyeglasses recycling sponsored by the Graham Lions Club and electronics recycling benefiting the Helen Hawkins Scholarship Fund. The Paper Pig will also be on the downtown square on kickoff day providing paper shredding with the first two bags or boxes free per household or business and each additional costing $5.
