Filing deadline approaching for local area May elections

Local entities in Young County will be hosting elections for official positions expiring in May during the uniform election date. The deadline to file to run in these elections is approaching at the beginning of February.

The city of Graham, Graham ISD, city of Olney, Olney ISD, Olney Hamilton Hospital, Newcastle ISD, city of Newcastle and Baylor County Water District are all having elected positions expiring May 1, 2021. The first day to file to be on the ballot was Wednesday, Jan. 13 for local political subdivisions.

The last day to file to be on the election ballot will be Friday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. or until the close of the business for each entity.
