A decade of giving back to Texas and Oklahoma nonprofits will come to a successful conclusion with the final Texoma Gives fundraising event being held next week.

Since 2016, the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation has hosted the online fundraising day Texoma Gives. Their final event will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 benefiting Young County and other area nonprofits.

“The 10th and final Texoma Gives will be a great day to celebrate all that has been accomplished together since 2016,” WFACF said in a release. “We look forward to new opportunities to partner with nonprofits and to share in their success as they benefit from their Texoma Gives experiences for years to come.”

Participating Young County organizations this year are Graham Crisis Center, Inc., House of Mercy Enterprises, Humane Society of Young County, Keep Olney Beautiful, Olney Christian Community Center, Olney Community Library and Arts Center, Olney Education Foundation, Olney Volunteer Fire Department, Young County Christian Education Foundation and Young County Olney Senior Cub Center, Inc.

The early donation period opened online Thursday, Aug. 21 at texomagives.org and will continue through next Thursday.

Last year, the 16-hour, online event raised over $215,000 for nine Young County nonprofits, with the majority of donations made to Olney organizations.

Over 200 organizations across 24 counties in North Texas and Southwest Oklahoma took part in the event in 2024.

Nonprofit organizations were required to create and complete a profile online at texomagives.org. The profile includes the name of the organization, description of the nonprofit, organization’s brand or logo, link to the nonprofit website and social media links.

Participating organizations must have been classified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and located in the region covered by the organization, with 18 counties in Texas and six in Oklahoma.

Churches are not eligible to participate in the program, but private schools, school foundations and tax-deductible scholarship funds can participate.

Eligible organizations must provide substantial services to the Texoma and immediate surrounding areas.

Young County organizations that participated in last year’s event were the Olney Christian Community Center, Olney Education Foundation, Young County Olney Senior Cub Center, Humane Society of Young County, Olney Volunteer Fire Department, House of Mercy Enterprises, Olney Community Library and Arts Center, Keep Olney Beautiful and Graham Crisis Center.

WFACF announced that just under $13 million has been raised by participating organizations through the event since 2016.
