Former interim Olney Police Chief, Robert Michael Cross, pleaded guilty to three second-degree felony charges Wednesday, June 10, resulting in a 14-year sentence.

Cross pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of sexual assault in the 90th District Court.

District Attorney Dee Peavy recommended 14 years in each of the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges and two years for the sexual assault charge. 90th District Court Judge Stephen Bristow accepted the recommendations of the state, sentencing Cross to 14 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. These sentences will run concurrently.

In March, Cross was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to threatening an individual at gunpoint. How his federal sentence will be served in relation to the 90th District sentence has not been determined.
