Full time, part time GRMC staff to receive Heroes Bonus

The Graham Regional Medical Center board of trustees approved a one-time Heroes Bonus for all full and part-time staff as the hospital continues to fight and try to prevent COVID-19.

GRMC CEO Shane Kernell presented the board with a well thought out and generous thank you for all the staff of the hospital who have sacrificed things during this pandemic.

“This is for all the personnel that have put forth a lot of work during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Kernell said. “What we want to do is to recognize that monetarily, we have put together some analysis through finance and HR on what that would look like to bring forth to the board as a recommendation.”

They recommended a one-time bonus for all employees, $300 for all part-time employees and $600 for all full-time employees. Kernell said the amounts paid out would be more so that the take home for employees would be the exact amount of $300 and $600. In total, all the bonuses paid out would be $109,313.

Kernell said this Heroes Bonus has been done by many businesses across the country for their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.
