Graham ISD campuses were announced as winners at the beginning of March in the 3rd quarter of the Patterson Gives Back program and were awarded $4,000 for the district on March 22 in Wichita Falls. Patterson Gives Back is organized by the Patterson Auto Group of Wichita Falls, so that Texoma area schools have the opportunity to receive a donation for any project or item that the campus needs or desires. The group is giving away $45,000 this year with $15,000 given each quarter. Submissions to the Patterson Auto Group for ideas come from one representative from each campus and include what is being requested and why that school should receive the donation. Votes were taken on the Patterson Gives Back website and each campuses was required to submit only one entry per quarter for a potential donation. The entries were narrowed down to finalists and prizes were given to three elementary schools, high schools and middle schools for first and second place as well as a Committee’s Choice Winner. Crestview Elementary won first place Elementary and won $2,000, Graham Junior High School won second place Junior High and $1,000 and Graham High School won second place High School and won $1,000. The money will be used for school signage at GHS, wheelchair accessible swings for the playground at Crestview and for mirrors of all shapes and sizes for a self-esteem-boosting project at GJHS.
