Gov. Abbott sets runoff election for HD68

Gov. Greg Abbott issued a proclamation Thursday setting Tuesday, Feb. 23, as the date for the special runoff election for the Texas House of Representatives District 68 seat vacated by Drew Springer, who won the Texas Senate District 30 position in December 2020.

Candidates David Spiller and Craig Carter are headed to a runoff election which will have early voting begin Tuesday, Feb. 16, across the 22 counties in the district. HD68 covers the counties of Childress, Collingsworth, Cooke, Cottle, Crosby, Dickens, Fisher, Floyd, Garza, Hall, Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, Kent, King, Montague, Motley, Stonewall, Throckmorton, Wheeler, Wilbarger and Young.

Early voting will run weekdays from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. Feb.16-19 at North Central Texas College located at 928 Cherry St. in Graham and Olney Community Library located at 807 W. Hamilton in Olney. Any registered voter in Young County can vote at either location during early voting.
