Graham Police Department Sergeant Tommie Shawver received a call for service regarding a bomb threat made to Walmart at 2:14 a.m. Sunday, May 19.

Shawver arrived and made contact with the assistant manager of the store, who told him she had answered a call from a blocked, private or unavailable number in which the call said there were 12 bomb pointed at the store.

The assistant manager also advised she had received a prank call from some children approximately 45 minutes prior to the threat. Sergeant Daryl Bell arrived on the scene and he and Shawver searched the store.

“The inside of the business was searched for anything suspicious and all store containers and trashcans were searched as a precaution,” a GPD press release reads. “The outside of the building was also searched for anything suspicious but nothing was found.”
