Graham Police Department Thursday, July 12 released bodycam video and other information related to the June 26 tasing of 19-year-old Michael Moore, who has autism.

On their Facebook page, GPD Chief Tony Widner said the investigation was closed after the Texas Rangers declined to investigate the matter. GPD released on YouTube bodycam footage of the two officers on scene during the tasing, two post-incident bodycam footage videos, the reporting officers following up with Moore at Graham Regional Medical Center and the dispatch call log for the incident.

“It is our opinion that our officer made a judgement call based on the limited information available, as the job forces them to do every day,” Chief Widner said in a press release. “Based on the situation and presentation of Mr. Moore, the responding officer believed him to be under the influence of controlled substances. A reasonable officer could have made this determination. He then appropriately initiated procedures to determine intoxication. After the struggle began, the techniques used were consistent with law and department policy for use of force.”
