The Graham Public Education Foundation along with Graham ISD will be honoring GISD alumni, staff and community members who have provided meritorious service to the district or their profession this month during the Hall of Honor dedication. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 caused a postponement of the event to the beginning of 2021 and then until Fall 2021.

A reception for the event will be held Friday, Oct. 15 at the Graham High School library beginning at 5:45 p.m. The honorees will be introduced between the first and second quarters of the Graham Steers home district game against Iowa Park, which begins at 7 p.m. at Newton Field.

GISD originally opened nominations for the program in June 2020 and a tentative date of Jan. 29, 2021 was announced at GISD Board of Trustees meeting. The event was changed from its usual date alongside the Steers football homecoming game to a home Steers basketball game. This date was also changed due to COVID-19 concerns ongoing into 2021, GISD Superintendent Sonny Cruse said in March.
