Organization hoping for February store opening

The Graham Crisis Center has gone through a few changes with a new leadership presence both on the board and overseeing operations, but soon the center itself on Indiana St. will be undergoing changes as a thrift store becomes open to the public and to clients who utilize the center’s services.

The Graham Crisis Center is an umbrella organization which contains the women’s shelter, food pantry and clothes closet on 601 Indiana St. in Graham. The organization provides services, such as providing food, clothes and monetary assistance for those in the community who have a need.

Board member and thrift store project manager Lydia Schupbach said the idea for the thrift store was already in the community and when she came onto the board she wondered why not make it at the Graham Crisis Center. The group is looking at mid-February to open the thrift store and hoping they will not have to push back the opening date.
