The Graham Farmers market will be starting off their second year Saturday in a new location and with a larger number of vendors.

The market began last year and saw success each week with eight to 12 vendors and support from the community, Farmers Market Board President Phillip Gough said. Because of the popularity of the first year, Gough said the vendors have adjusted accordingly moving into the second year with new vendors coming into the mix.

“To have a coordinated effort with a dozen or more vendors who signed up (last year), it was kind of feeling our way through as the summer went along,” Gough said. “As we built the momentum, the vendors who were there last year that are returning, many of them have expanded their product that they are going to offer because they had good business last year and they see the potential for doing more business. Then, we have got a few vendors who have come on board who heard how great the turnout was last year and want to be a part of it.”

The Graham Chamber of Commerce helped the board in the beginning to organize and partners with them for promotion, advertising and networking, Gough said. He said one of his personal goals since the beginning was establishing a place for these vendors in the city.

Applications to be a vendor for the market can be found on visitgrahamtexas.org, at the Graham Chamber of Commerce or by contacting one of the seven board members directly. The market is run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Old Ag Barn, Hwy. 67 and 5th St. For more information, visit the Graham Farmers Market Facebook page.
