Graham Regional Medical Center approved their marketing plan and have budgeted $40,000 in hopes of increasing the hospital’s image and patient growth numbers.

GRMC CEO Shane Kernell said he meets with Sarah Lundgren who is in charge of marketing for GRMC to create the plan each year.

Kernell said the three most visited pages on their website were careers, fitness center and the physician directory. He said the hospital has not gotten much traction on their Q&A section on their front page with only four questions asked so far.

The hospital is going to continue featuring department heads in videos on their Facebook to promote new employees and services.

The CEO said the hospital has set aside $12,000 for newspaper and print advertising with a campaign approach to the advertising. He said the current campaign is for new general surgeon Dr. Steven Vaughan. He added there is another $1,000 set aside for rack cards which are handed out at local events, meetings and businesses.

Kernell said the hospital is also pursuing ways to produce more television segments to get word out about upcoming events. They will also continue video advertising at the National Theatre before movie screenings as well as radio advertising.

The hospital is now paying for practitioners to make monthly visits to surrounding communities like Jacksboro, Breckenridge, Throckmorton and Olney to gain more referrals for GRMC.

He said the hospital will continue to sponsor community based events like the teacher’s appreciation breakfast, quarterly pastoral alliance breakfast, quarterly health summits, the health fair and much more.
“Not just myself, but other department heads try and stay in constant contact with folks such as the city manager, superintendent, EDC director, the mayor and certain established leaders in the community,” Kernell said.
