Graham resident killed in Montague County crash

A two-vehicle head on collision killed three, including a Graham resident, one mile north of Bowie around 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

A 2015 Chevrolet Cruz sedan driven by Andrew Joseph Gardner, 29 of Sunset, was traveling north on Hwy. 81 when it crossed over the center line and struck a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder SUV driven by Kay Dewveall, 62.

Gardner, his passenger Bobbi Jeanenne Johnson, 29 of Graham, and Dewveall’s passenger James Don Dewveall, 72 of Azle, were pronounced dead on the scene by the local Justice of the Peace.

Kay Dewveall was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries and is in an unknown condition.

All were wearing seatbelts and the road conditions were dry and clear.

The wreck occurred on Hwy. 81 near Indian Hills Rd. and is being investigated by Texas Highway Patrol division of Texas Department of Public Safety.
