Following struggles due to the global pandemic and internal problems, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Graham Memorial Post 8567 has reopened and continues to serve. The VFW is a non-profit veteran service organization whose membership is comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from active, guard and reserve forces.

Linda Mueggenborg took over as post commander on Jan. 12. This came after the resignation of previous leadership and a special order dated Nov. 20, 2020, which placed the post under suspension of up to 90 days. The post was found to be in violation of three national VFW by-laws.

The order stated that the post failed to submit a 4th quarter trustees audit, maintain adequate insurance and failed to submit a report of completion of “community service and Americanism reports” as mandated by state by-laws.
