Graham, Young County prepares for Walk Across Texas
Regular exercise and healthy eating will be the focus of an eight-week program focused on some of Texas’ youngest residents, along with teens and adults.
Walk Across Texas is a program designed to get children and students, along with adults up and moving towards a goal to “Walk Across Texas.” According to the WAT website, WAT is a program that is for anyone who wants to use a fun and motivating team approach to being more active.
This program is done in cooperation with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and will be done in 4-H Clubs, schools and after-school programs.
“This eight-week program encourages children and adults to get out and be physical,” Young County’s AgriLife Extension Agent, Penny Berend said. “This eight-weeks, research shows, is the time it takes to establish habits.”
