The 35th annual Graham Community Health and Wellness Fair returns to the Young County Arena this month. Graham Regional Medical Center will host the free event from 6-10 a.m. Saturday, July 24.

The health fair allows community members an opportunity to receive free health screenings. Services include free blood screening, ear and eye screenings, first aid training and blood pressure checks. In 2019, the fair started offering immunizations, including shingles and vaccinations required for students in school.

“It’s a really important thing for the community,” Enoc Espinoza, Emergency Department Director at GRMC, said. “You can get a lot of things. You can get preventative care, your labs drawn there. You get your basic labs and a good health screen. We do what’s called your basic chemistry. It’s going to show your electrolytes, potassium, your sodium (levels). It’s going to show how your kidneys are functioning as well. We will get your complete blood count and see if you’re anemic. (...) they have the Prostate-Specific Antigen, the PSA check.”
