The Humane Society of Young County received, through the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program, 3,920 pounds of cat litter Monday, Feb. 18.

The cat litter was delivered by truck and hauled into the shelter on two pallets Feb. 18.

For the shelter in Young County to receive the donations, community members must go to catspride.com and sign up for free to the Cat’s Pride Club. After signing up, the member must click on the nominate button and search by zip code for the Humane Society of Young County.

The more nominations received by members, the more litter will be donated to the shelter. The shelter is also eligible to receive a double shelter nomination with the code “4GOOD.” Despite the large delivery by Cat’s Pride, the shelter is still eligible for nominations and Shelter Director Hollie Larance said any donation helps the shelter at this time.

“We would greatly appreciate it because one of the main things we always run out of is cat litter,” Larance said. “This time of year we are going to be getting in a lot of kittens, so we are going to go through a lot more than usual unfortunately.”
