Keep Graham Beautiful’s online survey regarding the water tank on top of Standpipe Mountain in Graham came to close with over 1,300 responses submitted. The non-operational water tank is currently atop the hill for aesthetic purposes, but due to safety concerns the organization was gauging interest in the tank being repaired, replaced or removed from its current location.

The KGB organization is an all-volunteer service organization in Graham which organizes activities to clean up the city. The organization is coordinated by a nine-member board of directors and works in partnership with the Graham Public Works Department and city of Graham.

The survey was available online through portions of the months of May and June. The three questions asked in the survey were how often have you visited Standpipe Mountain/Victory Park in the past several years, if you consider the water tank an icon for the city of Graham and what would be the best option for the water tank at the top of the mountain. The three options were to replace the tank at an estimated cost of $250,000, repair the tank at an estimated cost of $150,000 or eliminate the tank at an estimated cost of $50,000.
