LCS: Full-time ambulance now stationed at PK
In January, Emergency Services District No. 1 approved a proposal which created a third full-time ambulance in Palo Pinto County with it being stationed on the east side of Possum Kingdom Lake.
ESD 1 contracted its emergency medical services out to Sacred Cross EMS Inc. last year. The company provided two ambulances which were stationed in Gordon and Graford as well as a day-time ambulance which floated around the county as needed.
“We had a talk with Sacred Cross on what it would cost to add another half-ambulance and turn that half-ambulance into a full-time,” ESD 1 Board President Lynn Reasoner said. “They came up with a price of $175,000, which we thought was very reasonable. Making three full time ambulances at a cost of $275,000 per unit.”
