The Possum Kingdom Muscle Boat Association will be revving up their engines as they prepare for their third annual PKMBA Hell on Water Poker Run Saturday, July 27.

The Poker Run challenges boaters to make at least five of the eight stops to pick up dog tags and enjoy Possum Kingdom Lake before returning to Bonitaville restaurant by 7:30 p.m. At Bonitaville, they will turn in their dog tags for poker hands with the person having the best hand winning a cash prize.

“The goal of (the poker run) is we get to raise money for charity, we get to help promote the businesses and everything at the lake and we get to have a good time,” PKMBA’s Sharla Carver said. “Proceeds from our shirt sales and poker hands and everything will benefit Possum Kingdom Emergency Medical Services West and Possum Kingdom Fire Department East.”

Registration can be done online or at Bonitaville Saturday morning from 8 to 9:30 a.m. then Brazos River Authority representative Robert Box will welcome boaters with poker run details and a safety speech. At 10 a.m. the Water Rush hydroflying team will start the Hell on Water Poker Run with the PKMBA flag. There will be a staggered takeoff for the poker run. The cost of registration is $100 per hand.
