After being one of many events forced to cancel last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Lions Club Carnival will be returning to the Graham downtown square starting Wednesday, May 5.

The carnival will be held Wednesday, May 5 through Saturday, May 8, on the Graham downtown square starting at 5:30 p.m. each night. The location of the carnival in front of the American Legion building had to be changed this year in order to accommodate the location now being Graham City Hall.

“We are moving this year a little bit. In previous years we started at Third St. on the Elm St. side inside the square and swung around to Oak St., but this year we are moving off of the Elm St. side mainly starting on the Elm St. side just south of the (Graham) City Hall/American Legion Building and we will wrap around all the way to Third St. on the Oak St. side. So it will be a little different setup, but it will be actually a little bit larger area and everything. We are trying to figure out where everything will fit and how it will go, so it will be a little bit of a learning curve, but we are looking forward to it,” Carnival Chairman Jim Senkel.
