Lippert sentenced to life for murder of Graham man
Brett Aaron Lippert, the suspect accused of the February killing of Justin Williams, appeared in court Monday afternoon to accept a plea deal for murder. Lippert was facing charges for capital murder, burglary of habitation and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Williams, 49, of Graham, was found dead in his home Sunday, Feb. 28.
Under the plea deal, Lippert, 37, of Fredricksburg, pleaded guilty to murder, a lesser charge. He was sentenced to life in the institutional division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, a fine of $8,000 and $290 in court fees. Under this agreement, Lippert could be eligible for parole in 40 years. With the plea bargain, Lippert waives his right to appeal.
“The deal was done under consultation with the Williams family,” 90th Judicial District Attorney Dee Peavy said in a statement. “I feel very good seeing a resolution to this case, primarily for the family. I feel confident that this defendant will never be free to walk the streets again and he will spend the rest of his days in prison.”
