A local fugitive is behind bars in Young County as Jeremy Gilmore was arrested in Nevada on May 21. He was held on warrants for intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle and intoxicated assault with a vehicle.

The charges stem from a single car crash that happened just east of Graham, near FM 2179 on April 14. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Gilmore, 43, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu with Derek Morgan, 43, and Melissa Neff, 32, when the car entered a ditch and rolled several times before coming to rest of its roof. Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene and Neff was transported to John Peter Smith in Fort Worth. Gilmore fled the scene and was later found by local law enforcement and was transported to John Peter Smith.

It remains unclear how Gilmore was released from the hospital outside of police custody. A Freedom of Information Act request has been made to DPS for more information regarding this case.
