The Young County Masonic Lodge is seeking auction items for their 11th annual public consignment auction in March, an event that provides county students with scholarships. The old ag barn in Graham will again host visitors on March 10, all looking for the chance to secure items that could be anything from bullets to buggys. Past consignment sales by the Masons have included items from the city of Graham, Young County, Olney ISD, Archer City ISD, Newcastle ISD and various local individuals and businesses. Items will be accepted for consignment now through March 9, and all items must be brought to Fireman’s Park beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7 through noon on March 9 for cataloging and tagging. Last year the Masonic Lodge of Young County awarded 12 scholarships that totaled over $14,000 for students graduating from Graham, Olney and Newcastle public schools. In total, the lodge made over $150,000 during the 2017 consignment event. In a consignment auction, the sales price is split between the auction house and the item’s owner. The Masons charge a 10 percent commission on the products sold during their auction with a $5 minimum commission on all items. The Graham Rifle and Pistol Club will again his year be hosting the firearms and ammunition sale, which in 2016 made $34,000. All commissions will still go to the Masons, however. All firearms sales and purchases will be subject to federal firearm license requirements. To get a full consigner’s agreement form and consign your items, call or email Weldon Floyd at 940-456-1669 (w-floyd@tamu.edu), Jimmy Rogers at 940-550-5153 (jrogers@karperco.com) or Eric Steadham at 940-613-2446 (eric.steadham@gmail.com). The blank item list forms and the terms of consignment also may be found on the Young County Masonic Lodge #485 A.F. & A.M.’s Facebook page.
