New names sought for New Century Veterans Memorial

The Young County New Century Veterans Memorial board is seeking new names to be added to the wall located near the Young County Courthouse.

The deadline to submit an application for inclusion on the memorial wall is Wednesday, June 18. To request an application, contact NCVM Chairman Toby Reddell at 940-549-5555, or at toby@grahamattorney.com.

On the application is the name requested to be engraved, their military branch, the date they entered active duty, the contact information of who is submitting the request and a comment section.

Applications can be submitted with a copy of the veterans’ DD214 or official documentation to New Century Veterans Memorial Project, P.O. Box 925, Graham, TX 76450, or emailed to toby@grahamattorney.com.

Those who are eligible to be named on the memorial are veterans or active duty military personnel who were inducted or served on or after Jan. 1, 2001, and whose DD214 or official personnel document shows their home address at time of entry or Home of Record as Young County.

After a fundraising effort, the New Century Veterans Memorial was dedicated in 2018 to honor veterans who have served in the military since 2001. The memorial was placed next to the original Young County Veterans Memorial which was dedicated in 2000.
