After placing in the Young County Junior Livestock Show in January, Newcastle FFA member Victoria Richards picked up two wins at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Feb. 1-2.

Richards won the Reserve Champion Poland China Gilt and the Champion Chester White Gilt in the Open Swine Show during the 2020 Fort Worth Stock & Rodeo at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

According to a press release, there are nearly 35,000 entries in the show and the open division provides those stockmen with an international stage to present their livestock with entries from six Canadian provinces, Mexico, Venezuela and across the nation. The exhibitors from North and South America are competing for awards and over $7,000 in Swine Division premiums.

“The Stock Show has become a gathering place for the finest livestock in the world,” wrote Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes in a press release. “We are committed to seeing that grow and providing a one-of-a-kind experience to our exhibitors when it comes to quality competition and pure Texas hospitality.”
