Opponents yet to apply for May election

No opponents have filed for a place on the May 4 election ballot for any of the nine entities serving citizens of Young County. The deadline to file is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb 15.

Entities in Young County with seats up for election are the city of Graham, Graham Independent School District, Graham Hospital District, city of Olney, Olney ISD, Olney-Hamilton Hospital District, city of Newcastle, Newcastle ISD and Baylor County Water District.

Up for reelection on the Graham City Council are Kyle Peavy and Lee Boyd. As of Friday morning the incumbents were the only people who had applied. Applications can be filed in person at Graham City Hall located at 429 Fourth St.
