Graham Police Department made two arrests on April 16 after 11 grams of cocaine and six grams of methamphetamine were discovered during a routine traffic stop.

K-9 Supervisor Austin Lawrence observed a pickup truck commit a traffic violation around 2 a.m. on the Tuesday in the 2400 block of S. Hwy. 16, according to a press release from GPD. Lawrence caught up and pulled over the vehicle after several turns.

The officer then made contact with the driver of the pickup, Timothy Lee Brantley, 30, of Justin. After a short conversation, Sergeant Tommie Shavwer arrived on scene and Lawrence made contact with the passenger, Jarrett Joseph Phillips, 44, of Venus.

The officers ran the driver’s license of the pair and found they were both suspended. Lawrence then had Brantley and Phillips stand with Shawver as he deployed his K-9 partner, Vader. During the open-air sniff of the pickup, Vader alerted to the presence of a narcotic inside the vehicle.
