Park project takes another step forward

The Army Corps of Engineers released implementation guidance on the Salk Creek park project for the City of Graham last week and District 19 Congress Jodey Arrington celebrated movement on the project. The federal de-authorization of the project was included in the 2016 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA). The purpose of the park is to help control flooding in the area around the Salt Creek area by West Street in Graham and provide a venue for recreation for citizens and visitors. “Graham, Texas has been working diligently for over 20 years to construct this park as a place for the community to come together,” Arrington said. “We are excited that they will be able to move forward with the park and look forward to attending events there in the future.” Three governmental agencies were involved in the project: the Brazos River Authority, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the City of Graham.
