However, Palo Pinto County enacted a burn ban on Monday, July 1, which will not ban the use of fireworks outside of city limits, but does restrict luminaries. A violation of the order is class C misdemeanor which is punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 under the Local Government Code. (Sun photo by Nathan Lawson)

The Possum Kingdom Water Supply Corporation will not implement its annual Fourth of July water restrictions this year.

“The wet weather we’ve had throughout the Spring has allowed us to maintain storage levels as our customers have not been irrigating as much,” the company posted on Facebook. “But, please be aware, these restrictions can/may be put back in place at any time. We always want to encourage our customers to practice good conservation methods regardless of the time of year.”

The utility company has placed water restrictions each Fourth of July since 2015. The water restrictions typically banned outdoor water use for around two weeks around the holiday each year.

Possum Kingdom Water Supply Corporation serves the peninsula area up to Willow Beach, Willow Beach north to Breding Rd., the west side of the lake, Gaines Bend housing development and The Hills above Possum Kingdom Lake.
