After being postponed in June, the Graham Chamber of Commerce Possum Pedal bike ride will be held this Saturday starting on the Graham downtown square with routes of 6, 27, 42, 54.5, 61 and 76 through southwestern Young County.

The ride will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 on the corner of Third and Oak St. in Graham and will have routes through Graham, South Bend, Eliasville and Fort Belknap. Chamber CEO Krisa De La Cruz said COVID-19 has brought several changes to the event this year.

“Kind of the biggest change is that we are doing a flexible start so people can start when they want to start (...) the ride. We are giving them specific times that the ride will be supported, so we will rest stops and SAG (Support and Gear) drivers supporting the ride from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. So anytime outside of those hours they won’t have access to the rest stops or SAG drivers,” De La Cruz said. “(...) we have changed up the routes a little bit. We took out the longest route because basically if riders do want to go further, they can ride the next to longest route and then an additional route if they would like to increase the number of miles.”

Registration for the event can be done at bikereg.com/possum-pedal, with children 13-17 costing $25 for all routes, tandems for all routes costing $50 and the routes of 6, 27, 42, 54.5, 61 and 76 costing $35.
