The family of Wyatt Dale will still be able to bring awareness for water safety with their annual Remembering Wyatt Dale Water Safety event as they have decided to move to a drive-thru event for 2020.

The seventh annual Remembering Wyatt Dale Water Safety, Family Fun in the Sun, was scheduled to occur in May, but due to restrictions from COVID-19 the event was postponed until July 18. On Thursday, July 2, Tracey Terasas, Wyatt’s grandmother and co-founder of Remembering Wyatt Dale, said that the Family Fun in the Sun event will be on a different day, but the life-jackets will be given out at a drive through event on July 18.

“We are going to have a drive through activity, where families can drive up in their vehicles and the kids will be fitted with life jackets,” Terasas said. “(...) It will still be held on the square on the front side over by the monuments (Veterans Memorial Walls).”

The free event will allow 300 kids to be fitted with life jackets from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Terasas reminds adults that children have to be present to receive a jacket, as they will be fitting them to them on that day.
