The Graham City Council last Thursday approved Mayor Neal Blanton to execute an agreement with Strategic Government Resources to search for a new city manager. The council also approved the resignation of City Manager Brandon Anderson who accepted a city manager position in Levelland.

In a previous interview with The Graham Leader, Blanton had said the city council would be pursuing a replacement for the city manager position “immediately.” Anderson was hired as Graham city manager in April 2015 after serving as the city manager in Haskell. He replaced former city manager David Casteel and began working for the city on June 16, according to a previous article from The Graham Leader.

“He’s been a tremendous asset to the city,” Blanton said in a previous interview. “Our finances are in better shape now than they have been in years, he’s re-figured the employees and everything like that, so we owe a lot to him.”
