Runners had the opportunity to face Spivey Hill as a part of the eighth annual Spivey Hill Challenge last Saturday at Fireman’s Park. The event had sign-ups for an in-person and virtual 5K run, 1K Fun Run and a Walk and Talk around the park, benefiting Shine On and Garments of Grace.

The event was held Saturday, Nov. 12 at Fireman’s Park in Graham. There were divisions for male and female runners and age divisions for those 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over. The overall male and female winner won $250, with second place receiving $100 and third place receiving $50.
