Fire gutted a vacant house before dawn Wednesday, and the state fire marshal is looking into the cause. A call came in to 911 at 4:49 a.m. March 29, of a structure fire on Rodgers Drive at Red Bud Circle in Graham. The fire had been spotted by a passer-by, who then made the call to emergency services. According to Capt. Greg Speck of the Graham Fire Department, when the first fire truck arrived, flames were already shooting through the roof of the ranch-style brick home. That crew of three and Engine 1 began to assess what they were dealing with. “As always, they made sure there were no souls in the house,” Speck said. A second truck and crew, with Engine 2, arrived to assist, followed by Truck 5, GFD’s ladder truck. Also on the scene were Graham Police and EMS.
