Texas Rangers investigating death of Olney woman

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the death of Olney woman Manuela Allen, who was found near Lake Cooper in Archer County Sunday.

DPS Sergeant Dan Buesing said her body was found near Lake Cooper and is being investigated as a homicide. According to the Olney Independent School District website, Allen was employed as a teacher at Olney High School where she taught English and German.

According to the Archer County News, the body of the victim was found by Archer County Sheriff’s lieutenant David Wilk and was recovered on the north side of the lake.

According to the Young County blotter, a murder was reported at 608 W Main St. in Olney around 9:30 a.m. The Young County Sheriff’s Department was on scene, but it is unknown whether this incident is related to the ongoing investigation at Lake Cooper.
