With election day approaching next Tuesday, extended early voting is coming to an end Friday in Young County. This election is the third in Young County after COVID-19 restrictions were implemented and slowly loosened locally and statewide following the special election for the Texas Senate District 30 seat which was held late in September.

Early voting in the general election is extended through Oct. 30 in Texas. Early voting by personal appearance will continue 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 26-30. Early voting locations are North Central Texas College at 928 Cherry St. in Graham and Olney Community Library at 807 W. Hamilton in Olney. Voters registered in Young County can vote at either location.

As of press time Monday afternoon, 4,917 in-person voters had shown up to vote in Young County, or a 41.6% turnout from the 11,820 registered voters in the county. In only the first week of early voting in the election, Young County, 2,409 voters turned out to vote, or a 20% total turnout from the registered voters in the county.
